The Amazon is the perfect place for anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience. You will have the opportunity to spot some of the many species of birds, amphibians, mammals and reptiles as well as exploring the importance of some of the 6.800 species of plants to the environment and the local indigenous population.
Leticia, the capital of the Colombian Amazon, is a great place to start your adventure. From there you can enter the Colombian, Brazilian and Peruvian Amazon without the need of a visa. You can visit different Nature Reserves, spot pink and grey dolphins, monkeys and learn about the indigenous culture of the tribes living in the area.
Puerto Nariño, a small town next to the Amazon River, was certified as one the first sustainable towns in the country because of its effective usage of resources and environmental protection measures. It is a very interesting place to visit, a place where indigenous cultures meets modern life.
There are many destinations that make for an amazing experience. Each place ensuring a different adventure, showing a different side of the Amazon rainforest.
You could visit the Nature Reserve Marasha or you could stay at the Eco-lodge Arara in the middle of the rainforest or you could visit Calanoa Jungle Lodge, a unique eco-lodge next to the River.
You can go zip-lining, piranha fishing or learn how to work with natural dyes. You could visit the Maikuchiga Foundation, a place of rehabilitation for captured and injured monkeys or you could play football with the local community. You can enjoy a boat ride on the Amazon River or the creeks bringing you deeper into the Amazon, all while birdwatching. The possibilities are endless.

You will hike through the rainforest, take a boat along the Amazon River and visit the local community of Mocagua as well as the Maikuchiga Foundation, helping captured animals to recover. You will visit Puerto Nariño, the first eco-town in Colombia.

Upon arrival in Leticia, you will take a taxi and boat ride to the Marasha Nature Reserve in Peru. You will have to walk for approximately 1 hour until reaching the Reserve´s facilities. In high-water season you will be commuting on a small boat.
During the walk or boat ride, you will be able to admire the beautiful centenary trees: Ceiba, Capinuri and Chuchuaza to name a few.
After lunch at the Nature Reserve you can go Piranha fishing, bird watching, canoeing or kayaking and head out in the evening for some caiman spotting.

After breakfast, you have time to enjoy a day filled with different activities and wildlife watching. You can go kayaking and look for the Victoria Regia, a giant Amazon Lotus, or you could spot monkeys or different kinds of birds or go piranha fishing.
In the evening, you can go on night walk, exploring the flora and fauna in darkness.

After breakfast, you will go to the Calanoa Jungle Lodge in a shared boat (approx. 60 minutes). After settling in and a delicious lunch, you will visit the Mocagua community and the Miqueando project where you learn more about these primates and the great work they are doing. The project is supported by the Sarah Beneth’s Foundation and works with the indigenous community of Mocagua.
In the afternoon you will go on a jungle walk and native boat ride down the Matamata creek, the natural limit with the Amacayacu Park (approx. 30 minutes). Upon return to the lodge get ready for a quiet rest.

After breakfast, you will go on a native boat to the village Puerto Nariño, a town on the shore of the Amazon River, where you will have time for a walk and can enjoy a typical lunch. After lunch you will continue by boat for a wildlife-watching excursion on the Tarapoto Lake. You will look out for pink dolphins and exotic birds, and will have the opportunity to try your hand at traditional fishing. You will arrive back at the lodge in the late afternoon.
After dinner, you you will explore the rainforest at night and get the chance to experience a fully different environment.

After breakfast, you will take a local boat down the Amazon River to Leticia. Depending on your flight you will have time to explore the city or will have your driver bring you to the airport in time for your flight out.

Your driver and English-speaking guide will welcome you at the airport and drive you to the Tanimboca Nature Reserve where a lovely lunch will be awaiting you. You will get the chance for a short rest in your tree house or cabin, if preferred, before heading on an adventure through the treetops while zip-lining. You will see the rainforest from above and during your nature walk will learn more about the red water and roots, the many different insects and birds as well as plants of the area.
After dinner, you will go on a night walk experiencing the rainforest and its inhabitant in a new and completely different environment.

Breakfast at the Tanimboca Reserve is followed by a taxi and boat ride to the Marasha Nature Reserve in Peru. The local guide will be waiting for you and will take you on a 1 hour hike or shorter canoe trip to the Reserve’s facilities. You will learn about timber and medicinal trees on the way. You will also be able to observe different species of birds that inhabit the area.
After lunch at the Nature Reserve you can go Piranha fishing, bird watching, canoeing or kayaking. In the evening, after dinner, you have the option to head out for some caiman spotting.

After breakfast you and your guide will take the local boat to the village Mocagua. Mocagua is a Tikuna community that is dedicated to the conservation of the regional ecosystem. You will visit the monkey rehabilitation centre Maikuchiga, where illegally captured as well as injured/sick monkeys are rehabilitated and prepared for their return to the jungle as free beings.
After a local lunch, you continue by boat to the Tarapoto Lake where you can go swimming or look out for pink and grey dolphins. You can also try yourself at piranha fishing. You then continue to Puerto Nariño and end the day with dinner at the hotel and a well deserved rest.

After breakfast at the hotel you will head back to Leticia with the local boat. Depending on your flight time, you will have time to explore the city with your guide. Your guide will bring you to the airport in time for your flight.

This adventure will take you deep into the rainforest. You will stay with an indigenous community and hike through the Nature Reserve surrounding the Arara Ecolodge. You will get the chance to join some cultural activities and will cross over to the Peruvian Amazon for your stay at the Nature Reserve Natamu.

After welcoming you at the airport you will head down the road leading to Terapacá for a ecological walk of 2 hours to the indigenous Wayruru community. You will learn more about the rainforest, its secrets and wonders.
Upon reaching the Wayruru community, you will enjoy a traditional lunch. This is followed by a visit to the “chagra”, the place where traditional crops such as cassava, banana, pineapple, the coca plant and tobacco are grown.
In the afternoon, you will be joining the shaman in the Maloca, a place for gatherings. He will speak about the importance of this place within the tribe and the sacred substances that are used there such as Mambe, Coca, Rape, Ambil and ground tobacco.
During the night walk, you can see bioluminescent mushrooms and other fascinating animals and plants.

Breakfast is followed by the hike back to the road where a taxi will be taking us to Leticia. We will take the public boat up the Amazon River until we reach Bocana de Arara. There a small boat will be waiting for us to take us to the Nature Reserve – Arara Ecolodge, which is surround by the two indigenous communities Arara of the Tikuna and the Maloca from the Yaguaa.
After lunch we will go on a hike through the rainforest and you will learn more about the flora and fauna of this area.

After breakfast, you will get the chance to join cultural activities such as a Huita workshop (natural dying) or the Yanchama Workshop or go fishing or you can explore the rainforest further on a another nature hike.

After breakfast you will cross the Amazon River to the Natamu Nature Reserve in Peru, home of the indigenous Chinería community who live along the banks of the river with the same name.
At Natamu, you will explore a different environment on foot, canoe or kayak. You can visit the indigenous community, go fishing or simply relax and soak in the beauty of the rainforest.
After dinner you can go on a night walk or try and spot Caymans on a night boat trip.
