Colombia is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a holiday with children. Colombians are very children friendly and value family time and the country with its many regions offers a wide range of activities interesting and fun for the whole family.
During our 12-day family holiday in Colombia you will bike around the capital Bogota, hike to the Guatavita Lake and learn more about the El Dorado legend. You will explore the underground Salt Cathedral of Zipaquira, fly to the coffee triangle and sleep at a coffee farm. You will hop on an old Willy jeep to reach the Cocora Valley, hike and go horseback riding through the valley. In Medellin you will learn more about the transformation of the city, climb the Peñol Boulder for incredible views and visit the charming and colourful village of Guatape. You will end your holiday with a visit to Cartagena, exploring the culinary culture and visit the Rosario Island for some quality beach time where you can swim and snorkel in crystal clear water.

We will welcome you and your family at the airport in Bogota. Your driver will bring you to your hotel in town and your english-speaking guide will give you all the tips and recommendations you need for a great holiday in Colombia.
You will have the rest of the day free to rest and acclimatize. Remember Bogota is at 2.600m above sea level.

Your guide will pick you up from the hotel for your bike ride through the city. You will cycle through various neighborhoods, but your first stop is in La Candelaria, Bogota’s historic center. It is here that you will find many beautiful colonial buildings and picturesque views of the mountains. During the tour, you will visit a traditional fruit market, where you can taste tropical fruits, followed by a typical small-scale coffee roaster.
You will have time for lunch and a rest before you continue in the afternoon with the famous Bogota Graffiti Tour. You will walk through Bogota’s center admiring the unique, prolific urban art scene and learn more about the local artists and their ideas.

Today you will be picked up for your drive to Guatavita. You will hike approx. 2 to 3 hours through the Nature Reserve until you reach the Guatavita Lake, the origin of the El Dorado legend.
Later, your trip continues to the famous Salt Cathedral in Zipaquirá, built almost 180 meters underground in a salt mine that was first exploited during pre-Columbian times. It is an important religious site for Catholics and houses salt and marble sculptures. It is also considered the first of the seven wonders of Colombia.
You will arrive back in Bogota in the late afternoon.

After breakfast, your driver will bring you to the airport in time for your flight to the coffee region of Colombia. You will arrive in the coffee triangle and will be driven to the coffee farm you will be staying for the next few days.
After a rest, you will be have the chance to get behind the scenes of coffee production. You will shadow the staff of one of the Hacienda Combia to see the entire process from start to finish. After seeing the coffee process from the field you will set out in search of the end product and a coffee tasting session.

You will enjoy a private transfer to Salento where you hop on an immaculate old Willy´s jeep and wind your way through the super-scenic Cocora Valley, a valley that is famous for its supply of the national tree, the wax palm. You then have the opportunity to take in some mountain air, stroll up the foothills of the Andes and go for a 1 hour horseback riding into the wax palm forest in Cocora Valley where you will be able to see a huge diversity of flora and fauna such as trout and parrots.
You will then drive back to Salento for a stroll through the beautiful and colourful village before heading back to the hotel.

Today you will make your way to Medellin. You will be picked up by your driver and brought to the airport in time for your short flight to Medellin. There you will be driven to your hotel.
You will have the rest of the day off to rest or explore on your own.

20 years ago, Medellin was one of the most dangerous cities in the world and you will learn all about the transformation from Pablo Escobar’s hunt, the investment in infrastructure and public education to being named the “City of Eternal Spring” and one of the most innovative metropolises in the world. It is an exciting tour through the city exploring its culture, history and development.
You will have the afternoon to discover the city further or to visit one of the many museums, parks and other tourist attractions.

Today you will go on a scenic drive through the Eastern Highlands of Antioquia to visit one of the unique attractions of the area: the Peñol Boulder of Guatape. You will climb 740 steps to reach the top of the 200-meter-high monolith from where you can enjoy breathtaking views over the stunning surroundings. Afterwards, you will visit the beautiful and colourful painted houses of the village of Guatape.
You will arrive back at our hotel in the late afternoon.

You will be picked up from the hotel in time for your flight to the caribbean city Cartagena. On arrival your driver will bring you to your hotel in the city center. You will have time to rest before exploring the culinary scene of one of the most beautiful cities in Colombia.
Bring your appetites and an adventurous attitude for this experience. You will walk through the city to experience food the way Cartageneros do. Whether you are searching a stopover snack or something more substantial, a healthy start or a sweet dessert, Cartagena’s streets provide everything! One of the very best ways to gain an insight into the daily lives and culture of the locals is to experience their culinary culture. You will get up close and personal with the real Cartagena as the street sellers fill our bellies with their delicacies and warm our hearts with their hospitality.
Your guide will bring you back to your hotel in the later afternoon and in time to enjoy a lovely meal at one of the many great restaurants in town.

Today you will have the opportunity to explore the city on your own. You can visit some of the many highlights mentioned by your guide, you can try some more local dishes or enjoy the pool at the hotel.

After breakfast, you will be picked up for your private transfer to the harbour. You will take a shared boat transfer to Rosario Island, a charming coral archipelago located only 60 minutes from Cartagena. Upon arrival, you are free to enjoy and explore the beaches of the National Natural Park of Corales.
There are several nautical activities (kayaking, snorkelling, etc.) available upon arrival on the island for an extra fee.
You will return to Cartagena around 4pm and will have the rest of the afternoon free.
