Tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities”(UNWTO)
In line with the definition of the UNTWO, Phoenix Travel Group considers every aspect and impact of sustainable travel during product development, sales and operations.
We are committed to the continuous improvement of the environmental sustainability, labor conditions, social relations, customer information as well as fair trade relations. The agreements with our partners take into consideration environmental, social and cultural as well as economic factors.
Taking the economic and social impacts as an example, we support community projects and development and work mainly with small boutique hotels, locally owned businesses and local guides. We also encourage further training and education, so that our team and the people we work with are up-to-date, can acquire new skills and enjoy professional development. We believe this to be of great importance to a sustainable tourism business.
In order to help reduce the environmental impact and our carbon footprint, we work remotely. This helps us minimise the carbon footprint of the whole team while maximising our work life balance. We have also started a reforestation project to help minimise the carbon footprint of your trip with us.

When you book your trip to Colombia with us, you are contributing to our reforestation project in Santander, Colombia. We contribute 1% of our profit yearly. Besides reducing the carbon footprint of your trip, you and we are contributing to regenerating degraded soil, to create new habitats for fauna species and to support local communities through the generation of legal employments. We really thank you for that!
In most cases, your contribution is one tree per person per day and 4 trees absorb 1 ton of CO2 in 10 years. In average, each person generates 0,86 tons of CO2 in a 8-day overland trip (flights not included)*. Therefore, most of the trips are carbon neutral.
If you would like to make a greater contribution to the offsetting of carbon emissions through our reforestation project in Colombia, please contact us.
Until 31st December 2022 (2023 coming soon) we have contributed 12.421 trees to the plantation, which will absorb 3.105 tons of carbon dioxide within 10 years.*
